500 up in Guernsey

Been a little frustrated that, even though I've just had a week off, I haven't been able to 'hit it hard' recently, due to the multiple responsibilities of family, work, writing the local bird report and getting smashed in St. Malo. Still I scurried on past 500, crossing the checkpoint with the beast below:

457 - Common Carpet
458 - Knot Grass
459 - Lime-speck Pug
460 - Grey Pine Carpet

I was very surprised to see 3 spikes of Loose-flowered Orchid in an area of rough ground just up the lane from here. A new site for the species, there are no others within a mile of the house. Although common here on the island in a few areas, the species is quite restricted in range.

Cheers!
