Shotesham: 3rd November

Oh blimey, I've let this blogging-lark slip haven't I? It's always the same, whenever I start a blog, it's OK for a while then I start to flag. Anyway, in line with other 1ksq-ers, I've rather taken the foot off the gas on the species hunting as the autumn has kicked in. Not entirely though, and today I finally passed the 1,300 mark, mostly thanks to the moth-trap plus the dark-arts of leaf-mining. On top of this, there's also still an inordinate number of pots in the fridge that STILL need looking at. "Fortunately" though, I live in a square that seems relatively devoid of fungi, which is at least saving me from a certain amount of banging my head against the wall. Here goes anyway, with the additions since the last post (which I'm horrified to discover was on 8th September!)

Late additions
1,234 - Phyllobius pomaceus (8th Jun) - common green weevils on nettles, I'd assumed they were this species but finally got round to checking properly.
1,235 - Tinea pellionella (9th Jun) - there's tons of these little moths in our house, happily munching the old carpets we've not managed to replace. Not fully gen det yet, but this appears to be by far the most common species and surely this species.
1,236 - Oncopsis flavicollis (19th Jun) - a leafhopper found in the moth-trap. Finally keyed it out to this.
1,237 - Grammoptera ruficornis (21st Jun) - a small longhorn beetle from the moth-trap, finally keyed.
1,238 - Ilybius ater (24th Aug) - water beetle found in the moth-trap and finally keyed.
